textile artist
graduate of the academy of fine arts in gdansk, poland with a masters degree in industrial design
I highly value craft-based design and the key point of each of my projects is exploration of traditional craft techniques and incorporating a wide manual skillset to create one-of-a-kind designs that feel relevant and fresh.

Over the years I developed a range of artisanal techniques of dying silk and wool fabrics, resulting in rich and unique patterns. I also evolved a set of methods to dye yarn in various colour shades and combinations that I later weave or knit, which creates unusual colour-play effects.
I use highest quality professional dyes to achieve deep, durable colours.
Due to the nature of this process it is impossible to get the same effect twice which means that each piece in the hand-dyed line is one of a kind and never to be repeated.
hand-dyeing
Weaving is a beautiful meditative practice that connects me to the matter that I’m working with. It’s a very slow process that includes hundreds and thousands of repetitive movements, row by row building a new creation.
I let the fibres the merino wool that I hand-dye guide the process. There are limits to how much can be planned when weaving or knitting with variegated yarn.
When I start, I set a general direction, but as the work progresses I just observe the different shades and specles of yarn interact with each other and let it and intuition take lead.

& knitting
I am committed to using only natural fibres such as cotton, linen, viscose, silk and wool.
All of my garment designs are made out of textiles sourced from a dead-stock inventory of textile producers. these are mostly an end-of-series or unclaimed orders from their intended buyers.
This way I’m using resources that have already been produced and lowering the impact on natural environment.
fabrics
I’m constantly widening the field of my activity, focusing recently on incorporating silver & gold smithing as well as glasswork into my practice.
I’m open to new projects and custom designs in the field of fashion & costume design for films and theatres as well as collaborations with other artists, makers and creatives.
